You cant judge me!
So many times a week i hear or read "you cant judge me!" or "You aint supposed to hold me accountable only God can."
Wow.
So this is gonna kinda cover two topics because they are so close together. We are to judge and hold each other accountable. Each other being other Christians. Yes its true. I hate to have a class with 20 verses on it but so many folks want to argue this.
Most of the time people say this because they know they're living wrong but dont want to stop. they like it, maybe its an idol to them, and they will defend it visciously.
All this is coming from the Matt 7 misread. It actually makes sence if you read it s-l-o-w-l-y.....
“Judge not, that you be not judged.
Ok dont do it and not be suprised when it happens back to you.
2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
Ok, so how ever mean you do it, itll come back on you later.
3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
So it seems its about Hippocritical Judgement.
HHmmmm Taken out of context Hhmmmm.
So,
1 Cor 12 (read the whole chapter) We are all of the same body (xp, the church) Does not our human body have the immune system to keep it in order? And since Paul is saying were all of the"Body of Christ" what makes us think a church or brother in Christ cant tell us somthing were doing wrong?
Are we not to submit to each other?(Eph 5:17-21) 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.
If we cant judge others then how do expose the false prophets by Gods word? So it makes no sence for people to say this.
In John 7:21-24 were told to Judge....and to do so Rightously! 21 Jesus answered and said to them, “I did one work, and you all marvel. 22 Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not that it is from Moses, but from the fathers), and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath. 23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath? 24 Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
All classes and pastors are to be tested according to the Word of God.(Isa. 8:20) "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them"
Jesus Christ delt with folks by calling them "hypocrites", "blind guides, " "blind, " "white washed tombs, " "serpents, " and "ye generation of vipers" (Matt. 23:23-34). Yet, were told that if we say these things were wrong and being a bigot, racist, or old fashioned. We are forced to compromise with false doctrine and a world bent on stealing the Holy Sovergnty away from Christ
In I Cor. 5 Paul "judged"a fornicator ,even though he was absent, and he told the Church at Corinth that they were to "judge"
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named[a] among the Gentiles—that a man has his father’s wife! 2 And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you.
3 For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed.
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.[b]
6 Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? 7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.[c] 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. 10 Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.
11 But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person.
12 For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? 13 But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.”
Ok that was a long one i know...
"So when we judge is it wrong to name names? or are you destryoing ministries? Is it slander?" Paul named many folks, called them out, by name to expose. But now you have to be absolutly correct before you do anyting. Prayed up and in walk with the Spirit.
Pauls called:
Peter- for being partial (Gal. 2)
Hymenaeus and Philetus-Heresy (2 Tim 2)
Alexander (coppersmith) Heresy (2 Tim 4)
Demus- for loving the worldly stuff (II Tim. 4)
Hymenaeus and Alexander- for blasphmy (I Tim. 1)
John did, Moses, Hanani, Jude, Nathan etc...When Gods word is being twisted we should speak out.
So all this stuff on Facebook and in 'inspirational" books of quotes is flat out wrong! Now "judging" folks by outer appearance is more of a "showing partiality" thing, which is a different class so youl hafta go to that one to fininsh your quest..
So what weve got here is the basics:
Pray before you do anything
We are accountable to other Christians, it should be between folks who already have a relationship with Christ.
God judges the sin, we judge the behavior.
Dont attack, speak kindly, but dont water down the sinful action
Be certian of the facts Be careful, its to help and heal.
We are to judge in love, for Godly conduct and rightous living Now its Gods job to judge the world. Not us. (The world is non christians.)
Judging Non belivers is different, God does that.
Read up, pray and let me know..
